There's no point in removing these as they will eventually grow out as the plant matures

We had a shipment of these come in a little on the soft side and I have been caring for her ever since. She's consuming her outermost leaves for a nutritional boost, but center growth is a nice, firm, compact rosette. Pretty chalky lilac, but will go peachy as it matures.
