The Port Ellen distillery was closed in 1983 and has since become one of the world's most sought after whiskies for drinkers and collectors. Distilled in 1979, matured for 28 years in refill American oak casks and bottled in 2007. Only 5,274 bottles were produced. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 53. 8%.
