With the fresh snow on the grass and the fall color in the leaves I found myself on the capitol steps to capture this image west through Civic Center Park towards the City and County of Denver building

The contrast of the light of the ice and the darkness of the lake was caught by the camera as a metered to allow this to happen

Sloans Lake Colorful Sunrise Building The road was still inl went to Sloans Lake on a September morning with the goal of capturing the rising sun over the city of Denver. When I arrived the clouds were covering the city. In the matter of a few minutes they started to show the colors of the sun before sunrise which I was able to photograph. The calm winds as well as a long exposure helped add to the picture with the city and colors in the clouds reflecting in the lake.
